Aquarius is the eleventh sign of the zodiac, spanning January 20 to February 18. Despite its name and the Water Bearer symbol (a figure pouring water from a jug), it is an air sign (not water), ruled primarily by innovative Uranus (and traditionally Saturn). As a fixed air sign, Aquarians are known for being independent, original, progressive, and humanitarian—often marching to their own beat with a strong sense of social justice and a desire to improve the world. They tend to be intellectual, forward-thinking, eccentric, inventive, and deeply committed to personal freedom, though they can sometimes appear detached, aloof, or stubborn. At their best, they inspire change and value authenticity above conformity.
